What I actually do

I don’t sell a subscription. Each engagement is quoted at a fixed price, delivered, and maintained afterwards if you want it. These are the shapes the work usually takes.

  1. 01

A system built for how you work

The main engagement. A working system for a part of the business that currently runs on spreadsheets, paper or one person’s memory.

    • Written scope and a fixed price before anything starts
    • First usable version in weeks, not quarters
    • Built around your process rather than forcing a new one
    • You own the code and the data
  2. 02

AI added to what you already run

You don’t have to replace a working system to get the benefit. AI can sit on top of the data you already have.

    • An assistant that answers questions about your own numbers
    • Drafting: marketing, quotes, follow-ups, summaries
    • Pulling structured data out of PDFs, orders and emails
    • Costed and capped, so the bill cannot surprise you
  3. 03

Making your systems talk to each other

Most wasted hours are re-typing. Point of sale, accounting, suppliers and labs can exchange data directly.

    • Orders that arrive without an email thread
    • Invoices that stop being entered twice
    • Supplier and lab connections
    • One-time data migration and clean-up
  4. 04

Figuring out what is worth building

A short paid engagement when you are not sure yet. Sometimes the honest answer is that software is not the problem. You will get that answer too.

    • A few days looking at how the work actually flows
    • A written recommendation with rough costs
    • What to build, what to buy, what to leave alone
    • Yours to keep, whether or not you hire me to build it
  5. 05

    Keeping it running afterwards

Software that people use every day needs small changes forever. Monthly support covers them without a new quote each time.

    • Fixes, small changes and questions answered
    • You talk to the person who wrote the code
    • Month to month, no long-term contract
    • Cancel whenever it stops being worth it

How we work

We start with a free 30-minute call. If it makes sense, I send a written proposal: what is included, what is not, the price and the delivery date.

A 50% deposit starts the project and the balance is due on delivery. You see a usable version well before the end, and we adjust it while your team uses it.

After that, optional monthly support covers fixes and small changes. No long-term contract. You stop whenever you want.

No rate card and no minimum engagement: each project is priced on the work to be done, and the price in the proposal is the price you pay.

Common questions

How much does a project cost?
Every engagement is quoted at a fixed price after a free 30-minute call. You get a written proposal with the price, the delivery date and exactly what is in and out of scope before work starts. There is no subscription. This is not rented software.
How long until I have something usable?
A first usable version in weeks rather than quarters. It gets adjusted while your team is already using it.
How does payment work?
A 50% deposit starts the project and the balance is due on delivery. Monthly support afterwards is billed separately, with no long-term contract.
Do I own the code?
Yes. You own the code and the data. You are not renting your own system.
Do you work outside the optical industry?
Yes. Optical is the industry I know best (multi-location retail, distribution and labs), but the same structures serve dental and veterinary groups, clinic networks and wholesale distribution.
Do you work with clients in the United States?
Yes. I work remotely with clients across Canada and the United States, in English and French.
